Tyson

 Two weeks ago when we were in Akagera Park, we received a call that Tyson is very sick. We went back immediately to Kigali and during the drive back we were trying to find a veterinarian in Kigali who could look after the dog. Not an easy task!

We found a vet who came home and gave Tyson at least a painkilling injection.

Tyson could not move from the neck up and couldn’t even go to the toilet. During the next few days we had 5 different vets often several times a day at home.

Two were so scared that they have not touched the dog. I had to lift him and carry out the desired movements.

Two others had attracted a muzzle to Tyson, although he could not move.

Fortunately, and with the help of a neighbour, we found the only veterinary hospital in Rwanda. Unfortunately, the X-ray machine is broken for weeks already. The vet of the clinic studied Tyson extensively and helped him with daily injections, massage and tablets.

Since 3 days Tyson walks again and can go to the toilet while standing.

With advices and encouraging words Sergio Moya (Dog Trainer) from Marbella and a good friend from Germany has helped us.

Als wir vor zwei Wochen im Akagera Park waren, erhielten wir einen Anruf, dass es Tyson sehr schlecht gehe.

Wir sind sofort nach Kigali zurückgefahren und haben schon vom Auto per Telefon einen Tierarzt in Kigali gesucht. Keine leichte Aufgabe!

Wir fanden einen Tierarzt der nach Hause kam und Tyson wenigstens eine schmerzstillende Spritze gab.

Tyson konnte sich vom Hals ab nicht bewegen und auch nicht zur Toilette gehen. In den nächsten Tagen hatten wir 5 verschiedene Tierärzte oft mehrmals am Tag zu Hause.

Zwei hatten solche Angst, dass sie den Hund nicht angefasst haben. Ich musste ihn hochheben und die gewünschten Bewegungen ausüben.

Zwei andere haben dem armen Tyson einen Maulkorb angezogen, obwohl er sich nicht bewegen konnte.

Zum Glück und mit Hilfe eines Nachbars fanden wir die einzige Tierklinik in Ruanda. Leider ist das Röntgengerät schon seit Wochen kaputt. Der Tierarzt der Klinik hat Tyson ausführlich untersucht und ihm mit täglichen Spritzen, Massage und Tabletten geholfen.

Seit 3 Tagen läuft Tyson wieder und kann auch wieder sein Geschäft im Stehen erledigen.

Mit Ratschlägen und aufmunternden Worten hat uns auch Sergio Moya (Hundetrainer) aus Marbella und eine gute Freundin aus Deutschland geholfen.

Hace dos semanas, cuando estábamos en Akagera Parque, recibimos una llamada que Tyson está muy enfermo. Volvimos inmediatamente a Kigali y durante el trayecto de vuelta que tratábamos de encontrar un veterinario en Kigali que podían cuidar el perro. No era una tarea fácil!

Encontramos a un veterinario que llegó a casa y dio a Tyson al menos una inyección de analgésico.

Tyson no podía moverse desde el cuello abajo y ni siquiera ir al baño. Durante los próximos días teníamos 5 diferentes veterinarios varias veces al día en la casa. Dos de ellos eran tan asustado que no han tocado el perro. Yo tuve que levantar y llevar a cabo los movimientos deseados.

Otros dos pusieron  un bozal a  Tyson, a pesar de que no se podía mover. Afortunadamente, y con la ayuda de un vecino, encontramos el único hospital veterinario en Ruanda. Desafortunadamente, la máquina de rayos X está rota desde unos semanas.

El veterinario de la clínica estudiada extensivamente a Tyson y le ayudó con inyecciones diarias, masaje y tabletas.

Desde hace 3 días Tyson camina de nuevo y puede ir al baño mientras está de pie.

Con consejos y palabras de ánimo Sergio Moya (entrenador de perros) de Marbella y un buen amigo de Alemania nos han ayudado mucho.
